The Paths We Wander

A challenge to you all... Take off walking in the direction of your greatest passion.

We awaken each day to a path laid out before us. Sometimes, they are long and arduous— each step through the dark, shaky and uncertain. Each corner bringing surprises— good and bad, joyful or wrought with sorrow. An uncertain road, where we can walk with purpose, or just wander around aimlessly if we aren't careful. We can walk tirelessly everyday with no idea at all where we are going. Or we can just stand there, waiting for some sense of direction that seems to elude us.

I guess the important thing is to keep on walking.

But whose path are you walking? One you've chosen for yourself, or one others have expected and demanded you walk? Life is precious and fleeting-- too short for us to not regain control of the compass and start walking a direction we choose for ourselves.

Seize the Day. Carpe Diem. Live while you are Living. Experience Life. Take Action. Follow a path that gives your life meaning. Follow your bliss, or end up blistered by the suns of sorrow and regret. This moment is all we have so let's make it count.

Still yet, make sure to look up from the trail from time to time to see the scenes that are continually passing by. Smell the air and feel the breeze. Take time to stop and admire. Your path doesn't have to be a tunnel in which you wait your whole life to see if there is a light at the end.

Everyday is filled with radiance when we open our eyes, and open our minds to the infinite possibilities of a human life. Embrace life and walk headlong into it. Unafraid. Curious. Open. The only thing worth fearing is not enjoying these lives we were given.

When you are gone you will be remembered by what kind of person you were, and how you treated people, not by the sum of your personal possessions. Build good relationships. People matter. Not things. Life is a string of experiences, memories, and personal relationships. Leave something meaningful behind.

Humans are social creatures. We need other people. Others enrich our lives. But too often we talk and don't listen. To others. To the sacred lessons that have lingered. To our own hearts and gut instincts. To the lessons we can learn from silence. Please listen. Your gut often tells you what you should be paying attention to. Turn off your mind sometimes. Don't ignore your intuition.

Grab the torch of your deepest passions and take off walking. The only alternative is to ignore the light of your innermost inspiration and stumble around in the dark. Take off walking and create the life you have envisioned for yourself.

No one will do it but you.
